BACK HOME CAMPING FOLK TALE

Been talking bout the way things change
And my family lives in a different state
And if you don’t know what to make of this
Then we will not relate
So if you don’t know what to make of this
Then we will not relate
Rivers and roads
Rivers ‘til I reach you
— The Head and The Heart

There's something about home, and when we were brainstorming with Mandy and Travis about their engagement session Travis told us of the hometown her grew up in.  They knew they wanted their engagement session somewhere special to them and since the are adventurers that moved out to Colorado, where the hiking and snowboarding was good, they wanted to inject their love for the outdoors in the session.  So we met at Travis' hometown, a little town in the mountains of NC.  It was picturesque, and we could tell that Travis was proud to show us where the school bus would drop him off every day, his grandparents house, and the soda shop he would go to daily to get a sandwhich and shake.  He showed us the little river down the road from his house where he played as a child.  It's these moments that we get a glimpse into our couple's lives and we feel like we have taken an intimate peek into their existence and we mark ourselves blessed and better for having experienced it.  It's a moment that we feel we have stolen a piece of someone's history, and now we carry it with us.  That little house, that bend in the river, it is now a small part of us.
